Dr. Amir M. Khan is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a Subspecialty Board Certification in Sports Medicine. Dr. Khan is the founder of the Texas Institute of Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine (TiOS) located in Grapevine, TX. Dr. Khan provides a variety of orthopedic treatments and procedures including joint replacement, fracture care, and adult and pediatric general orthopedics. He is an arthroscopy and sports medicine expert in the treatment of athletic injuries and complex disorders of the shoulder and knee including ligament repair, reconstruction, and cartilage restoration surgery.
Dr. Khan attended medical school at Tufts University in Boston. He then completed an orthopedic residency at the Teaching Hospitals of the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook, NY, and two fellowships at SOAR/Stanford University, CA. He has received numerous educational awards and distinctions and has authored several publications in reputed orthopedic journals. He remains active in orthopedic research. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Khan brings vast experience in the care of the high-level athlete at both the professional and amateur level including: NFL Football-San Francisco 49ers (1999- 2006), XFL Football-San Francisco Demons, The X-games at San Francisco, San Jose Ballet, Stanford University, and Santa Clara University athletics as well as several NCAA Division-I tournaments including basketball, soccer, and volleyball.
Dr. Khan is an avid athlete and his love for sports continues to be the driving force in supporting all his patients to achieve and/or exceed their goals. In his free time, Dr. Khan enjoys spending time with his family and coaching his four daughters on the soccer field.

This dual board certification requires a higher level of training, expertise, commitment, and testing. Dr. Khubchandani specializes in treating knee and shoulder injuries and disorders. Dr. Khubchandani graduated with honors from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1996. He was also selected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, an honor bestowed to the top 10% of medical students nationwide. He did his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. This was followed by a sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship in Orlando, FL, with an emphasis on complex shoulder and knee disorders.
Dr. Khubchandani is dedicated to a high standard of patient care. He understands the complexities of sports-related injuries and strives to return the athlete to the field of play when it is safe to do so. His approach stems from his experience in treating athletes at all levels. During his residency, he spent four years working with the physicians who treat the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. During his sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship in Orlando, he continued working with athletes at all levels, including the Kansas City Royals during spring training.

Dr. Wenger is a highly skilled and trained physician dedicated to providing both surgical and non-surgical solutions to acute and chronic problems utilizing the latest advances in orthopedic care for his patients.
A native Texan, Dr. Wenger graduated from Southern Methodist University with degrees in biology and business before receiving his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. While in medical school, he was selected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He also completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where he trained at the world-renowned Parkland Hospital. Dr. Wenger then traveled to Los Angeles for a sports medicine fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic where he trained under some of the top sports medicine physicians in the country. While at KJOC, he assisted in the care of high school, collegiate, and professional athletes including the USC Trojans, LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, LA Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Anaheim Angels, and LA Sparks. Dr. Wenger has been selected for inclusion on the Super Doctors® Texas list for Orthopedic Surgery every year since 2017.

Dr. Ernst is board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, providing comprehensive foot and ankle care for both adult and pediatric patients. He is particularly interested in reconstructive procedures, limb preservation, deformity correction, trauma, and congenital pediatric deformities. Dr. Ernst is passionate about providing a customized treatment plan for each individual patient to meet their needs and provide maximum functional improvement and quality of life.

Originally from Nebraska, he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2010 and was accepted into the podiatric medicine and surgery program at Des Moines University in Iowa. His entrance to the program was deferred for one year while he served in Afghanistan with the Army National Guard as part of the 134th Cavalry Regiment. He returned home just in time to join the class of 2015. His residency training was completed locally at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth where he gained extensive experience in trauma and diabetic limb salvage.

To further his training, Dr. Ernst completed two fellowships at the Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute in West Palm Beach, FL, under the direction of Dr. Brad Lamm, DPM, and Dr. Dror Paley, MD, both recognized leaders in their fields. There he received advanced training in total ankle replacements, minimally invasive surgery, external fixation, and limb lengthening, as well as in the treatment of congenital pediatric deformities. The center is the foremost leader in the world in limb lengthening and the treatment of complex orthopedic deformities. Dr. Ernst feels blessed to have been part of such an amazing team and to have had the privilege of treating patients from around the globe.

Dr. Ernst feels privileged to join such a distinguished group of physicians here at TiOS. He is dedicated to continuing the tradition of outstanding patient care and clinical outcomes as well as furthering the profession, having been published in multiple journals and textbooks as well as having spoken at local and national conferences.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ernst is dedicated to his faith as well as the pursuit of fitness and nutrition goals. He enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family, including his nine nieces and nephews.
